Material cutting processes
At IKALDER, we cover the entire metal-cutting process: we select the appropriate technology based on the thickness, material and geometry of each component, to ensure the manufacture of metal structures and industrial sheet metalwork with the utmost precision.
Shear
High-precision, high-speed straight cuts in a wide range of materials, capable of cutting up to 12 mm in carbon steel and sheets up to 4,000 mm. It is our fastest process for long runs of straight parts.
High-precision plasma
For parts where shearing is not feasible. We cut thick sections and a variety of materials using a calculation programme to determine the developed dimensions for cones, elbows and reducers, producing parts that are ready for forming without the need for further adjustments. This is the process we use for curved geometries and perforations that cannot be achieved by shearing.
Circular and band saws
For cutting pipes and sections, with angles of up to +60° / −45° and a maximum cutting diameter of 230 mm, ideal for preparing sections prior to assembly and welding.
Punching machine
It allows for grooving, cutting, drilling and embossing. We use it to produce, amongst other items, decorative flounces and grilles of various sizes, with repeatable patterns for furniture and décor ranges.

Advantages of cutting in our own workshop
A single point of contact
There is no need to organise separate cutting, bending and welding workshops: the entire process is carried out by the same team.
Effective monitoring of deadlines
We adjust the production sequence according to the actual urgency of each order.
Adjustments without back-and-forth
If a measurement changes halfway through a project, we sort it out in the workshop itself.
Material traceability
We know at all times which batch each cut sheet comes from, which is important for certified parts.

Frequently asked questions about cutting materials
What is the maximum thickness they can cut?
We can cut carbon steel up to 12 mm thick using a shear; with plasma cutting, we can cut thicker sections of steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
What sheet metal formats do you handle?
We process sheet metal up to 4000×2000 mm and tubing up to 230 mm in diameter.
Can you cut parts with complex shapes?
Yes, using high-precision plasma cutting and a development calculation programme, we manufacture bespoke cones, elbows and reducers.
Do they also cut non-ferrous materials such as copper or brass?
Yes, using high-precision plasma cutting, we also cut copper and brass, as well as steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Do I need to provide the plan, or can you work from a sample?
Both options are valid: we work from technical drawings or from a sample item that needs to be reproduced.
How long does it take for a cut-to-size order to be delivered?
Delivery times depend on the volume and the material; as we hold our own stock, we can process most business orders quickly. Please contact us to enquire about delivery times.
